Baby recovering after fall from window

Witnesses of an infant’s fall from a fifth-floor Calgary apartment window say it’s something they won’t soon forget.
Shyelle Welker lives next door to the apartment the 18-month-old fell out of Sunday morning in the 700 block of 14th Avenue S.W.
She says she heard a “popping” sound, a baby screaming, then a man yelling for help.
When she looked outside, the toddler was on the ground covered in blood.
Police say the child leaned against the screen of an open window when it gave way.
No charges are expected.
The child is recovering in hospital, listed in serious condition.
