Dance crew and opera singer make it to CGT final

The first eliminations for the semifinals of Canada’s Got Talent took place Tuesday night.

The opening elimination round was between fire dancer Marissa Puff, dance crew Fresh, beat musicians HIX and rockers Pulp City Inn.

Show host Dina Pugliese revealed that Fresh would be moving on.

In the second round it was judges’ choice between singer Christopher Charles, opera singer Julie Lafontaine and martial arts performers Wushu by Storm; Martin Short, Measha Brueggergosman and Stephan Moccio all gave Julie Lafontaine a pass to the finals.

“It’s just such a privilege to have this moment in my life,” said Lafontaine, following the show.

Fresh member Zack, talking about his dance crew’s chances in the finals, said “if we focus all of our energy on what we’re going to do for the finals, yes I believe we do have a shot.”

The final will take place in May.
