One of the most reclusive animals in the Canadian wild came out for a jaunt through Airdrie recently.
A woman managed to snap a photo of a wolverine in the community just north of Calgary, as it ran across her street last Saturday.
Anna Lowe tells the Airdrie Echo, she grabbed her camera and went outside to get a better look.
It’s very rare to see a wolverine at all, but even more unusual this far east of the mountains.
A wildlife biologist suspects it was a young male looking for a new home.
The City of Airdrie says it got four calls from people who caught a glimpse of the wolverine as it made its way from the western edge of town to the Nose Creek area.
