Another shooting has police concerned about public safety

Calgary police are dealing with yet another weekend shooting; this time, in a popular downtown night spot.
This marks the fifth shooting being investigated by police in just over a week and officer say they’re growing concerned an innocent bystander may soon get caught in the crossfire.
In the latest incident, police were called to the 900 block of 17 Ave. S.W. where they found two men with gun shot wounds to their upper bodies.
Duty Insp. Craig Skelton says they’re now looking to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time the shots rang out.
“Both men were taken to hospital in serious condition but are expected to survive. Neither of the men are cooperating with the investigation,” says Skelton.
Police say they have five people in custody but are interviewing them as witnesses not suspects.
