Sex offender captured

Vancouver police say they have arrested a high-risk sex offender wanted on a countrywide warrant.

Police in B.C. and in Calgary had been looking for James Benson since last week when he walked away from a Vancouver halfway house.

He has ties to Calgary, where he committed crimes dating back to the 1990s.

The 32-year-old was arrested early Sunday in the downtown area of Vancouver without incident.
