Albertans are getting short-changed: report

A new study suggests Albertans are being short-changed on oil royalties.
The report by the University of Alberta’s Parkland Institute says the provincial government received less than 20 per cent of generated oilsands revenue since 1997, 15 per cent short of its original target.
Since the 1980’s, the public has received less than six per cent of the $260-billion produced by the oil and gas industry.
To top it off, the study believes the province will lose $55-billion in potential revenue over the next three years.
