Calgary-Elbow riding candidates play voting game

The Mount Royal University’s “voting game” with Calgary-Elbow Candidates saw the PC’s and Wildrose toss around some heated comments.

It all started with the fun “where would you go on a date night” question and ended with strong closing remarks.

At the debate were the Alberta Party’s Greg Clark, Wildrose James Cole, NDP Craig Coolahan, Evergreen Party’s William Hamilton and PC’s Alison Redford.

The Liberal candidate was missing.

The PC leader’s idea of a date night is bringing her husband and daughter to a climbing wall at MRU after some time at the park.

The others would go for lunch and the river.

On a more serious note, Political Scientist Duane Bratt says Redford came out on top but the Wildrose’s Cole gave her a run for her money when he brought up conscious rights at the end.

“Wildrose opens the door on that by talking about Premier Redford being frightened, and what’s she frightened of? And they have a pretty good line. You know, she’s frightened of losing her job, frightened of losing her purse – that’s a pretty good applause line and then she responded back ‘know, she’s frightened of Wildrose, she’s frightened of conscious rights.”

Political Scientist Laurie Williams was also there and Redford demonstrated good leadership.
