The Jubilee is being told it needs to apologize to a group that performed two shows in the auditorium this month.
New York-based “Shen Yun Performing Arts” says it experienced unprofessional and humiliating treatment by staff.
A spokeswoman for the group that hosted the event, Jenny Yang tells 660News in one incident, a stage worker accidentally opened the door of a quick-change area being used by female performers.
She says when the performer reported it to the production manager, instead of taking it seriously he just laughed it off, demonstrating very unprofessional conduct.
The group’s presenter – the Falun Dafa Association of Calgary – has written a letter to Alberta’s Minister of Culture and Community Spirit requesting a written apology.
A spokeswoman with the Jubilee says they have not been contacted by the performance group but, points out, it hosts 250 events every year and is respected internationally for the venue and its staff.
