Missing Fort Macleod couple found

RCMP say a missing couple from Fort Macleod has been found safe at a remote cabin along the Bow River.

Jacob and Anja Ooserwijks were found by a helicopter after RCMP were told about a very broken radio transmission. In it, a woman with a European accent said she and her husband had become stuck and her husband had an injured knee, but they were OK.

They’ve been taken to hospital to be evaluated and will be reunited with their seven children.

The pair left their home Saturday for a day trip to Fernie, B.C. and mounties were alerted when they didn’t return.

The family is thanking everyone who helped search for the couple.
