No cuts planned for non-smoking program

Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq has dismissed worries from health groups over the government’s decision to cut a federal non-smoking program.
    
She says the current tobacco program is a decade old and now is the time to change the focus to populations that are smoking far more than the national average.
    
Melodie Tilson, from the Non-Smokers Rights Association, says the spending cuts mean tobacco companies will have influence in deciding future health policy decisions.
