Southbound Deerfoot Trail will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. between the 17th Avenue and Blackfoot Trail underpass to Southland Drive.

Carmacks maintenance manager Gary Brooks tells 660News it’s time for spring cleaning.

“We have a lot of equipment out there, seven sweepers and several trucks, so it’s just very confusing for the drivers,” says Brooks. “We’ve been closing Deerfoot Trail for the last 12 years to promote the safety of the public as well as our workers.”

Alternate routes include Blackfoot Trail and Peigan Trail.

Northbound Deerfoot Trail will be closed overnight Monday and Tuesday next week for cleaning in those lanes.
