Arrowwood school re-opens

Students will be able to go back to class Wednesday following a devastating fire at Arrowwood Community School, north east of Vulcan.

Someone set fire to the grades one to nine building Friday, causing at least $5 million in damages.

“We always talk about the school being the heart of the community and in Arrowwood, this is especially true,” said Palliser Regional Schools Superintendent Kevin Gietz.

“I can’t say enough about the support being shown to our staff and students in Arrowwood.”

The school is now in desperate need of supplies like sports equipment, paper, crayons, binders and tape.

If you would like to donate supplies, they can be dropped off at Palliser Regional Schools Central Office in Lethbridge.

A 20-year-old has been charged in relation to the fire.
