There’s been an exchange of insults between cyclist Lance Armstrong and Canadian Olympic triathlon gold medalist Simon Whitfield.
The seven-time winner of the Tour de France tweeted the Olympic Triathlon is “a shampoo, a blowdry and a 10 km foot race.”
In response, Whitfield tweeted “I’m disappointed to read Lance Armstrong’s comments.”
Armstrong’s distain for Olympic triathlon has to do with the fact that it’s much shorter than the Ironman Triathlon in which he competes.
Some say Armstrong may just be cranky; earlier this month, after a seventh-place finish in a triathlon in Texas, he snubbed his own 10-year-old who tried to give him a participant’s medal.
