An escapee from the Bowden institution, 46-year-old Dean Leonard McClelland has been arrested.
Duty Inspector Darren Leggatt said after McClelland went reported missing on Thursday, tips from the public led to his arrest.
“As a result of information that came to the Calgary Police Service, we were able to locate Dean McClelland and arrest him without incident at a residence in southwest Calgary,” he said.
McClelland was taken into custody around 6:30 Saturday night and will be transferred to Correctional Services Canada.
Leggatt said it’s not clear if the escapee will receive new charges.
He is currently serving a three-year, eight-month sentence for a number of charges, including Mischief in Relation to Property and Criminal Harassment.
