Another bear has been struck and killed by a train in the region.
A bear cub died about 9pm on Friday after being struck by a CP Rail train west of Old Camp on the 1A Highway between Canmore and Exshaw.
A Fish & Wildlife Officer tells the Calgary Herald at first it was believed the yearling was a grizzly. But it turned out to be a black bear.
The officer says he didn’t see any grain in the area of the tracks, but added bears tend to move lower into the valley at this time of the year in search of food.
