A German Shepard cross is on the mend after going through a horrific experience.
People about an hour north of Red Deer spotted a dog dragging a metal trap clamped around its paw this past week.
Deanna Thompson Executive Director with the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society tells 660News it took them a while to get a hold of the scared pooch.
“She was very, very scared, it actually took us quite a while to find her, she blended in very well with the grass and field in the area,” says Thompson. “When we saw her, we thought she was already gone because she was just laying in the grass, but her head popped up and we knew she was still alive.”
The dog is now recovering in a foster home and the group thinks the paw can be saved.
The non-profit charity is taking donations towards the dog’s care. if you would like to help out, click here.
