Hilton comes to East Village

Development of Calgary’s East Village took another step forward with the news of a private investment in the downtown neighbourhood.

Officials at the Calgary Municipal Land Corporation announced construction will soon begin on a new East Village Hilton Hotel.

The new 208,000 square foot, $75-million facility will be situated at the corner of 7th avenue and 4th street southeast.

The developer hopes to break ground by next spring with an opening date for the 14 storey hotel in late 2014.
