Morning for Change Telethon raised thousands

Wednesday’s “Morning for Change” telethon brought together six Rogers City-TV stations, across the country, to help end domestic violence.

Over $55,000 was raised in our city thanks to generous Calgarians.

Julie George with the Women’s Foundation tells 660News the raised funds will assist women get back on their feet as part of the “Shelter from the Storm” campaign.

“We’ve got a long road ahead of us to help women move out of violent relationships, I want to thank those women for being so courageous coming forward and telling their stories and making us understand the urgency of violence,” said George.

Country wide “Morning for Change” raised half a million dollars.
