Massive search for Ryan Lane in Beiseker

A massive search for Ryan Lane takes place in a rural area northeast of Calgary Sunday.

The 24-year-old Calgary father hasn’t been seen since early February and homicide detectives have reason to believe he met with foul play.

More than 80 volunteers, HAWC, the K-9 Unit, and Calgary police are searching a river and land area west of Beiseker.

Duty Inspector Keith Cain says they’re hoping to find any evidence on his disappearance.

“It can help explain what has happened to him, and they’re looking for clothing and looking for him or unfortunately for his body,” Cain says.

Cain adds the number of personnel involved in the rescue is unprecedented.

Investigators have identified suspects believed to be involved in Lane’s disappearance, but say they’ve been unco-operative with police.

Friday Lane’s parents made an emotional plea for anyone with information to come forward.

Lane was last seen February 7th near the 5200 block of Country Hills Boulevard N.W.

He is Caucasian, 5’9″ tall, 150 pounds with slim build.  He has brown eyes, brown hair, and a tattoo on his right upper arm.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
