Technology pushing new health care products

There’s a new movement going on thanks to technology called connected health care.

Manzel Nelson of Machine2Machine finds new products, like pyjamas that measure the temperature and ECG levels for babies when they’re sleeping and send the results to your phone, are just one of the new advances in the industry.

He said other products include glucose monitors, which help diabetics who have had to check their blood a number of times a day and log the info.

“Now when you go home, you can wear these devices and report in automatically and it gives the patient peace of mind,” he said. “Also gives the health care giver much more urgent information.”

Nelson said older patients who may have dementia or Alzheimer’s can benefit the most because information can be sent to their loved ones and they don’t have to be sent to a home.
