For those dedicated to getting the primo May long weekend campsite, it’s never too early to start planning.
Some 30,000 reservations have already been made at provincial campgrounds since February.
A spokeswoman for Alberta Tourism tells The Calgary Herald the new online reservation system has likely led to an increased number of reservations by this time leading up to the Victoria Day long weekend.
For those who missed the boat on reserving a site, there are still first-come, first-served sites at 170 provincial campgrounds, and 360 at national parks in southern Alberta.
