The Calgary International Airport is going green with a fleet of red smart cars.
The cars will be used as escort vehicles.
“YYC is already experiencing a high level of construction activity with the Airport Development Program, and that activity level will only increase as we continue to develop our facilities to meet the needs of our growing economy. These new smart cars will play an important role in reducing gas consumption and our environmental footprint,” said Garth Atkinson, President and CEO of The Calgary Airport Authority. “The Authority is always looking for new forward-thinking ways to improve efficiency and I believe that these new vehicles will be a great investment for our airport.”
The cars are already on the job and will be able to drive the new 14,000 foot runway almost 150 times on one tank of gas.
