Calgary Transit added a new bus to its fleet Wednesday.
It’s called the engagement bus and the city hopes it will play a major role in its plan to engage riders in shaping the future of public transit in Calgary.
The bus offers free rides to anyone, in return for feedback.
Mayor Naheed Nenshi says it’s that feedback will help council make future transit decisions.
“We are not the experts in public transit, the expert in public transit is the person who takes the bus everyday. because she can tell us what is working and what it takes to make the system work even better,” said Nenshi.
The bus is part of the city’s RouteAhead program.
