Ogden metal fire could cost millions

The city’s fire chief is telling the owners of a south-east metal scrap yard to clean-up its act following a smoldering fire on its grounds.

Chief Bruce Burrell has told city council “Calgary Metal Recycling” on Ogden Road has been told to remove any materials that can ignite another blaze.

The Calgary Herald reports the final price tag of the two-week-long blaze is expected to reach seven-digits for both the business and the city.
