Calgary food trucks get TV time

Calgary’s food trucks grab the spotlight Wednesday night on the popular Food Network show Eat Street.
James Boettcher is behind the twitter account @yycfoodtrucks, and tells 660News the show stopped in Cow town recently to get a taste of our street food scene.
“They filmed three trucks in November,” says Boucher. “A couple of those episodes are airing this week. Perogi Boyz and Fries&Dolls are on this evening, and Alley Burger aired a few weeks ago.”
He says, considering food trucks have only been legal here since last August, they’ve been a huge hit in Calgary.
The street food scene got a big shot in the arm when Mayor Naheed Nenshi threw his support behind food trucks shortly after he was elected.
