Crooks target pin pads at local Subway restaurants

Police are investigating recent pin pad thefts at seven Subway restaurants in Calgary.

Between April 20 and May 10, a group of two or three men and one woman would go into the restaurants at night time.

One person would place an order while the others would remove the pin pad device and replace it with another.

Once they have the pin pads, police say they can download personal credit and debit information, although there’s no indication this has happened in this case.

Police say the culprits are likely part of a larger fraud ring.

If you suspect your card was skimmed or you recognize these suspects, you’re urged to call Crime Stoppers.
