One dead, another injured after Bowden crash

A two-vehicle collision west of Bowden has claimed the life of a 24-year-old man on secondary Highway 587 and Range Road 14.
Police believe the man from Pincher Creek was driving northbound and tried to cross the highway at an intersection controlled by a stop sign, when it got struck by an oncoming vehicle.
Both ended up in the ditch with the man being thrown from his seat.
He was pronounced dead on scene, while the driver of the other car, a 65-year-old woman was sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor, but speed and failing to stop at a stop sign are being considered.
No charges will be laid.
The man’s identity is not being released.
