Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver is pleased to hear Alberta plans to open an office in Ottawa.
Oliver stated such an venture will help our province tell the real story behind oilsands development.
“It’s a great opportunity for the province to explain, to get the facts out about the resource development that are so crucial for Alberta and the entire country,” said Oliver.
Speaking during a joint conference with our premier, the two used the opportunity to slam NDP opposition to Canada’s reliance on the energy development.
Oliver says it’s divisive to say energy development is harming manufacturing in Ontario.
NDP leader Thomas Mulcair will be in Alberta next week and is expected to tour Fort McMurray.
