Kings grab early lead in Stanley Cup Final

The Los Angeles Kings are doing something that has never been done before.
Thanks to their 2-1 win over the New Jersey Devils in the opener of the Stanley Cup Final Wednesday, Darryl Sutter’s crew has extended their remarkable winning streak on the road to nine games.
The Devils had a hard time getting shots on goal, and when they did, they were met by Kings puck-stopper Jonathan Quick, who turned aside 17 of 18 shots faced.
Colin Fraser scored in the first period for Los Angeles while Anton Volchenkov replied for New Jersey in the second.
The overtime hero was Anže Kopitar, who scored 8:13 into the first extra frame.
Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur was able to laugh off the winning goal.
“If I would’ve known what he was thinking, it would have been a lot easier.” said Brodeur.
The Kings lead the best of seven series 1-0 with game two set for Saturday.
