More rooms coming for working poor in Calgary

Low-income workers will soon have another place to stay thanks to the Calgary Drop-In Centre.
The organization is purchasing the Quality Inn located at Edmonton Trail and McKnight Boulevard with plans to rent rooms out to the working-poor.
A spokesperson tells the Calgary Herald 20-suites will be rented out for about $600 a month for room and board starting in July with plans to expand to as many as 117-suites in the next year or so.
The property cost about $8-million with $5-million coming from provincial coffers.
