23rd annual Mayor’s Environment Expo underway

It may not be easy being green, but some 50 exhibitors in the 23rd annual Mayor’s Environment Expo are sure trying!
Mayor Nenshi kicked off the three-day event Tuesday afternoon at City Hall by walking around and looking at the different environmental presentations set up in the atrium by students and other exhibitors.
One of the projects done by the students of St. Rose of Lima was designed to cut down on the amount of compost by feeding compost material to worms in order to create healthy soil for their garden.
Another project involved creating an incentive program for recycling, employed by the students at Blessed Cardinal Newman.
Also on display is the University of Calgary’s solar car.
