Calgary police are thanking the public for their help in finding a suspect in an attempted murder at a house party in Dover back in April.
Police have been on the lookout for 29-year-old Christopher Ivan Gooder since the attack in which investigators say two men who didn’t know each other got into a fight at the home along Doverwood Place, one man ended up with stab wounds.
Duty inspector Paul Stacey said after receiving a tip from the pubilc, Gooder was arrested by Cochrane RCMP in that community Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. without incident and police are grateful.
“We exhausted all our means to attempt to find Mr. Gooder, as a result of doing that, we came up empty,” he said. “This was our last resort and usually somebody knows something about the cases that we’re involved with.”
The victim suffered critical injuries to his head, neck and face and needed about 100 stiches to close his wounds.
Gooder is now in CPS custody.
