The drenching continues

A small tornado, a freak snowstorm and a tonne of rain have combined to cause all sorts of headaches weather-wise this weekend.

A twister emerged from thunderstorms east of Red Deer, damaging farm near Stettler but fortunately, no one was hurt and the tornado warnings ended last night.

Thankfully, the flood watch for the Bow River in Canmore has been downgraded to a high stream-flow advisory but despite all of the rain, water levels in the area are actually falling.

Residents and business owners received the worst of the weather to the west of Calgary, in Canmore, with flooded basements and the town is poised with sandbags ready to deal with potential flooding from the Bow River.

For most other places in southern and central Alberta, the rain continues but all weather watches and warnings have now ended.
