2012 Global Petroleum Show is a gusher

People from 95 different countries will gather in Calgary over the next three days to participate in one of the largest energy shows on the planet.
In terms of size, Calgary’s Global Petroleum show now rivals similar events in Houston and Abu Dhabi.
Show organizer Wes Scott with DMG Events says in conjunction with the show, a career expo will run Wednesday and Thursday at the Telus Convention centre.
More than 7,500 job-seekers are expected to drop off their resumes with some 70 companies looking to hire while in town.
Premier Alison Redford will not only officially welcome delegates Tuesday night, she will also participate in an International Energy Leaders Forum Wednesday morning.
Oklahoma’s first female governor, May Fallin, is also in town to participate.
The show isn’t all about work; there are a number of so-called networking events, including a special exhibition rodeo followed by a barbecue Wednesday afternoon.
Estimates the Global Petroleum Show will pump as much at $100-million into the local economy.
