It’s the end of a musical era.
Irene Besse, of Irene Besse Keyboards is retiring after over 30 years in the business.
She said she thought about the decision for a while, but in the end, it was time.
“You know when it’s time and my daughter Nicole and her husband Michael are ready to take over part of the business and they’ll revamp it to their style and the timing is good, I want to do it while I’m healthy.”
Besse added playing at the 1988 Olympics was one of her major career highlights, as well as having sales and education all under one roof.
She was also the Calgary Flames organist for the team’s first nine years in the city.
