Fatal hit and run NE of Calgary

One women is dead and the occupants of the second vehicle on the run after a fatal head-on crash near Rrricana.
RCMP arrived at the scene on Highway 9 around 12:30 a.m. Thursday morning after a passerby called 911.
A 51-year-old woman from Bieseker died, while the passengers in a second truck fled the scene before emergency crews arrived.
The Calgary Police HAWCS helicopter was called in but unable to spot the suspect vehicle from the air.
Mounties say the driver of the 2005 Dodge Ram truck will have extensive facial and head injuries as well as possible chest injuries. Investigators are checking with hospitals and health care centres for someone walking in with those injuries.
It’s not clear what caused the collision.
