Calgarians are getting a rare break from mosquitoes for the first week of summer.
Thanks to a cool, dry spring and winter, as well as the city’s spraying success, the flesh biters are under control so far.
Bug experts tell The Calgary Herald despite all the rain we’ve seen, it hasn’t been enough to fill ponds.
Cooler spring temperatures may have also prevented eggs from hatching and the city hopes to keep the summer mostly skeeter-free.
