Big day in Calgary courts – Paxton, Bourdeaux on the docket

Two well-known cases are back in Calgary courtrooms Friday morning.

A judge is scheduled to hear preliminary arguments to help determine if Dustin Paxton meets the criteria for a dangerous offender application.

Paxton was convicted of sexual and aggravated assault against his former roommate in February.

Meanwhile, a judge is set to sentence Stacey Joy Bourdeaux, the mother who admitted to smothering her infant son and severely injuring her other young boy in 2004.

She pleaded guilty to manslaughter and attempted murder last August.
