City puts projects aside to focus on transportation for disabled

The airport tunnel and West LRT are being put on the backburner while the City of Calgary reviews its public transportation service for the disabled.

According to The Calgary Herald, Access Calgary is struggling to serve users with an increasing demand for their services.

The city’s audit committee has now agreed to a performance review that’s expected to cost less than $75,000.

The system provides around 15,000 Calgarians with disabilities door-to-door service, helps them run errands and, helps them make appointments.
