2012 Stampede features zipline as new attraction

It’s a ride 950-feet across Stampede Park at 60 km/hr and you shouldn’t have to wait in line.

Stampede-goers will be able to able to purchase a wristband for the ground’s zipline at the Big Four building for a specific window of time.

They can then roam the grounds as they choose and return for their time slot.

However, Programming Design Manager Michelle Wyn tells 660News, thrill seekers can’t purchase the ride online.

“We do have to have you sign a waiver in person and you do have to be over the age of 18-years-old to sign the waiver,” said Wyn. “If you are under 18, you can still ride, you just have to have mom or dad sign a waiver, in person, as well.”

Wyn says organizers developed the strategy with the help of Ziptrack, the company bringing in the ride.

Their zipline has most recently been featured at the 2010 Olympics and the Superbowl.
