Long weekend crackdown on Alberta roads

Officials are sending out a warning for those heading out on the highways this weekend – policing will be stepped up all three days, all over Alberta.
Solicitor General Jonathan Denis says a long weekend is a great thing but he’s asking people to remember to be responsible.
“We will have additional traffic units available throughout the province,” says Denis. “There are people doing additional shifts and we’re serious about enforcing the laws.”
The new impaired driving law also takes effect on Canada Day Sunday.
Drivers will receive an automatic license suspension if they are caught driving with a blood-alcohol level higher than 0.08.
