Taber corn could be hitting dinner plates earlier this year.
David Jensen with Jensen Farms in Taber says crops are in excellent shape and they’re expecting corn to be out in stands a lot earlier than the past two years.
He says if all goes well, corn could be sold as early as the first week of August.
For the last two years, the corn wasn’t being harvested until the third week of August or later due to cool and wet weather.
Jensen says plenty of rain this June and hot temperatures in the forecast for the next few weeks will be perfect for corn crops.
