If you’re bringing a bag on to the Stampede Grounds, be prepared to be randomly searched, as part of increased security for the centennial celebrations.
Security staff has been boosted by about six percent for this year’s event and 30 extra surveillance cameras have been added to central dispatch.
According to the Calgary Herald, the 30 cameras are in addition to those already in place.
‘Big Brother’ has over 100 cameras in total, keeping tabs on the 238-acre site.
The population of Stampede Park makes it like Alberta’s third largest city for 10 days and 200 security personnel patrolling the grounds are joined by 75 CPS officers.
