Riders trapped on Skyride at Stampede

Some Stampede goers were stuck up on the WestJet Skyride Monday evening when the power went out to a section of the park.

The Fire Department was called in to help get them down. Everyone was safely removed and the ride began moving again once the power was restored. There were also reports of temporary outages affecting two other rides and the Coca-Cola Stage.

Calgary Stampede’s Doug Fraser says they made sure everyone on the Skyride stayed well hydrated while they were waiting to be brought down.

No injuries have been reported. It is still unclear what caused the outages.
