It was a day to remember for the friends and family of a beloved truck driver who lost his life on a rural highway northeast of Calgary.
According to The Calgary Sun, Sunday’s gathering saw a convoy of semis gather at the intersection of Hwy. 9 and Hwy. 566 to honour Wes Brooks.
The 56-year-old died in a crash involving his semi and a pickup truck on June 16.
Police say the driver of the pickup failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection, near where at least three other fatal collisions have happened in the last 12 years.
