With 10 straight days of partying from dawn until dusk, many would think police would be stepping up their Checkstop program to prevent drinking and driving.
Well, think again.
Unlike the Christmas season, police say they have not added more Checkstops just because it’s Stampede.
Most Calgarians 660News spoke with Tuesday said they were surprised more wasn’t being done, given there’s typically more drinking during the summer months.
“There’s more drinking during Stampede week than there is at Christmas, so they should enforce it,” said one man.
Most people do say Calgary police do a great job with the resources they have.
