Day five of Stampede sees strong attendance

The sweltering heat isn’t slowing Stampede-goers from celebrating this year’s centennial on the grounds.

The fifth day of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth saw 121,548 guests through the gates; that’s 25,000 more than last year on the same day.

The number boosts the overall attendance to just over 690,000 people heading into day six; that’s up more than 130,000 over 2011 numbers.
