There’s no by-election date set, but federal MP hopefuls are taking full advantage of Stampede celebrations with an eye on the vacancy in the Calgary-Centre riding.
At least seven aspiring candidates are hoping to stake a claim to the inner city riding; five Conservatives and two Liberals.
According to The Calgary Herald, both NDP and Green Party leaders also have plans to speak to voters in the city before the end of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.
While opposition parties all say they have their sights set on Calgary Centre, the Tories hold all eight ridings in the city and regularly win them with massive majorities.
