The Calgary Hotel Association reports most inn keepers in the city have rooms available for the final weekend of Stampede, which wasn’t the case on the opening weekend and most of this week.
The Chair of the CHA, Leanne Shaw-Brotherston tells 660News this year’s Stampede has been great for business, with the final occupancy rate for the 10 day show expected to come in between 90 and 95 per cent.
Shaw-Brotherston says corporate Calgary also stepped up this year, booking a number of rooms for out of town clients.
She says this year they saw visitors from around the world come to whoop it up, with strong representation from not only south of the border, but Australia, Germany , the U.K. and the rest of Canada.
