Stampede art auction

Hundreds of people got together with Western Art on their minds.

The 31st annual Western Art auction was held on the Stampede grounds Thursday night and featured works from artists from around the world.

The painting to be used for the 2013 stampede poster fetched a bid of $95,000.

Over 100 hundred pieces were up for auction.

The only centennial saddle left, designed by Vic Bennett, went for $24,000.
